Many of the programs offered through Arlington EATS are great opportunities for volunteers of all ages to get involved in addressing food insecurity in our community. There are, however, some roles restricted to volunteers 18 and above due to regulatory bodies. Please see each volunteer opportunity description to determine whether you qualify for that specific role.

Please email sdorson@arlingtoneats.org to volunteer.

Volunteer for Beats for EATS 2020!

This year, we need volunteers to provide two hours of help during the weekend of Beats for EATS, our annual fundraising event (leaving plenty of time to enjoy the party, too!). Volunteers get free admission as well as an Arlington EATS tote bag. Fill out the short survey below to view opportunities or volunteer.

Volunteer as an Individual

The Market

There are lots of opportunities for serving at the Arlington EATS Market. Volunteers are needed to unload the delivery truck, set-up the Market, and help with food distribution. Please note that volunteers needs to be high school age or older to help with deliveries or food distribution. Heavy lifting may be required. If you have questions, you can contact Susan at sdorson@arlingtoneats.org.

Unload Delivery: 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 9-11am
Market Set-up: Tuesdays from 12:30-3:00pm
Food Distribution: Wednesdays from 8:30-11am and 4:30-7pm

Snack Preparation

Arlington EATS makes snacks available for any student who is hungry during the school day. Snack preparation includes: packing school approved snacks as well as fruit washing and transporting. These projects are carried out in specific settings. Please contact Sarah at sarah@arlingtoneats.org to find out how you can help.

We store and wash fruit within commercial kitchen settings. As guests in these settings, it is crucial that we operate under the guidelines set for each environment. If you are up for the challenge, please contact Sarah to find out more about this volunteer opportunity. Please note, heavy lifting may be required.

Vacation Week and Summer Lunch Programs

School vacations can be stressful for households who count on school meals to keep their kids fed. From serving food on the buffet line to restocking supplies, setting up the beverage center to taking out the trash, we need lots of help to make our February, April and Summer Vacation Lunches run smoothly. Check back for volunteer opportunities!

  • Host a food drive at your school or place of work. These are the items we most frequently need.
  • Host a lemonade stand/car wash/crowdfunding campaign and we’ll find something great for you to sponsor. Email us for promotional help with your fundraiser!
  • Ask for donations in place of gifts for a birthday party. A great way to do this is by creating a fundraiser on Facebook to benefit Arlington EATS.

  • Volunteer or Donate
